Q. How do I install the LibFetch! browser extension?

DESKTOP DOWNLOAD 

You can download the LibFetch! browser extension on your own laptop or PC, and let it automatically help you access the resources you need wherever you are. 

Step 1: Visit the LibFetch! download page at the Lean Library website.

Step 2: LibFetch! will automatically identify your browser type. Click on the featured browser image and you will be directed to the download page to install the Library Access extension. 

Step 3: Depending on the browser, it will ask you to reconfirm and you can select Allow or Add or both.

Step 4: A new window will open. Search for and select National Institute of Education as your Library.

Step 5: Leave the box "Skip the pop up and automate access" unchecked to receive messages from the Library, then select Save.

Once installed, you can use it immediately. No further action is required from you as LibFetch! will give you automatic notifications. You can start your online research by visiting an e-resource page and LibFetch! will detect and alert you if you have access to the e-resource. It will automatically provide suggestions to alternative sources of full text when you are hit by barriers.

IOS APP DOWNLOAD

Download the LibFetch! browser extension on iOS devices with the app, Academic Browser. This app will provide you with the same experience as you would have on a desktop or laptop, while continuing to protect your privacy. Download the app on your iPad or iPhone and experience a seamless workflow. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 as above.
