It is possible for a delegate to update your ORCID record if you give them permission, by adding them as a Trusted Individual. However, it is recommended practice that you control your ORCID iD and the information attached to it. Please note that only you can revoke the Trusted Individual’s access to your ORCID. The Trusted Individual will not be able to revoke access from their account.

To add a Trusted Individual:

  • Go to your ORCID profile and click on the arrow next to your name. From the drop-down menu, select Account Settings.
  • Scroll down the page to Trusted Individuals. In the search box, enter the ORCID iD, email address, or name of the person you want to make as a trusted individual. Click Search.
  • A result list will appear. Click the Add button to list this person as a Trusted Individual for your ORCID.
